I am a proud to call Morris Plains my home, having lived here for 51 years.

Accomplishments


My 15 years of experience has enabled me to successfully lead and
continue to work to bring the best to the Borough
.

 

  • Successfully navigated Morris Plains through the pandemic.

  • Successfully received $2 million dollars in grant funding during my term as mayor.

  • Welcomed nearly 30 new businesses and filled vacant office space.

  • Continued bi-partisan, multi-level positive relationships between local, county, state and federal officials.

  • Consolidated services with the County of Morris, neighboring municipalities and the Board of Education resulting in fiscal savings for residents.

  • Maintained property taxes within the 2% mandated state cap.

  • Achieved a municipal property tax reduction in 2022.

  • Implemented the addition of hybrid vehicles & charging stations.

  • Preserved open space along the brook on Mountain Way partially funded by the 2020 Morris County Open Space Trust Fund.

  • Funded Police Department with upgraded technology and security, issued body cams and re-implemented bike patrol.

  • Funded Fire Department with the purchase of a new ladder truck and Chief's vehicle, refurbished 20+ year-old Engine 3 and mobile radio upgrades.

  • Funded Department of Public Works by refurbishing two fleet vehicles resulting in saving taxpayer dollars.

Goals
 
  • Continue upgrading the Borough's technology (provide more virtual services).
  • Begin the process of upgrading the playground equipment in Borough parks.
  • Continue to attract small and large businesses in our vacancies along Speedwell Avenue and the Route 53 corridor.
  • Continue to listen to ALL residents' ideas and suggestions.
  • Continue to seek and apply for grants to enhance the Borough's efforts on charging stations, hybrid and electric vehicles, recreation areas, open space and see the current grant projects through completion.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility, as I have previously accomplished, to maximize services and Borough activities.

The passion that I have for Morris Plains and its residents is evident through my constant dedication to ensure the Borough’s financial stability, its quality of life, and the safety of its residents. My focus will continue to be Morris Plains. My knowledge of the budget, the governing process and my love for the community ensure that I am the only Mayoral candidate with the experience to continue to successfully lead Morris Plains. My continued pledge to every resident of Morris Plains, from the very young to the young at heart: I will contine to keep Morris Plains the Community of Caring; I have the experience to bring Morris Plains further into the future while
maintaining our unique small-town feel.
